Florida State‘s offensive line coach Herb Hand has been to Texas, Virginia, and Arizona this week, checking out prospects. On Friday, he was in Delaware.

Blue-chip prospect Layton Von Brandt, a former Penn State commit, is the player who Hand spent time with. The Appoquinimink High School star showed his appreciation for Hand visiting him in social media.

“I appreciate @CoachHand @FSUFootball for stopping by to visit & talk with me this morning,” Von Brandt wrote.

Von Brandt is one of the top-ranked recruits in the 2027 class. He’s listed as the No. 38 overall player and the No. 5 offensive tackle per 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Delaware as well.

FSU offered Von Brandt a scholarship back in August. He has 20 offers in total with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Indiana Hoosiers, Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, and more amongst his suitors.

Now that Hand has visited Von Brandt, he needs to get him on campus in Tallahassee soon.
