As the search continues for a man accused of fatally shooting another man in Hialeah, the victim’s family is speaking out.
The family identified the victim as 27-year-old Cedell Miller, a son, brother and father to two young children.
According to Hialeah Police, on Sept. 10, the suspect, 47-year-old Fletcher Jimeson, had been involved in a verbal disagreement with Miller in the parking lot of 2265 West 4th Court.
During the argument, Jimeson pulled out a gun and shot Miller, police said.
Miller was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police on Monday released a flyer of Jimeson, who is wanted in the shooting and should be considered “armed and dangerous,” officials said.
“We just want to know why,” said Miller’s sister, Oceania Miller. “We have so many questions, it’s like any other family wants to know the why, how, the five Ws. It doesn’t matter, but we just wanted to know why.”
Miller’s mother, Yolanda Gaint, was in Georgia when she found out. As she traveled to South Florida, she said she prayed and hoped her son would make it.
“It was heartbreaking to see your child laying there like that and there’s nothing you can do to help him,” Gaint said.
Miller was one of Gaint’s four kids. He had a passion for making music. He also would have turned 28 on Thursday, Sept. 18.

“I want justice for my child,” Gaint said. “I mean, no parent should have to go through this. No parent should have to bury their child.
Miller was trying to get his life together for his children, his mother said.
“His daughter meant everything to him, about her he would lay down his life, as well for both of them, but that was his heart,” Gaint said.
Miller is also an organ donor, and Gaint said she is hopeful that he will end up saving someone’s life.
“I have a lot of faith, I believe in God, and God has the last say so,” Oceania Miller said. “What you might do in the dark comes to the light.”
The family is now trying to raise money for Cedell’s funeral expenses.
Anyone with information on Jimeson’s whereabouts is asked to call Hialeah Police at 305-687-2525.
