INDIANTOWN, Fla. (CBS12) — Two Indiantown sisters were found safe in Georgia after an AMBER Alert and multi-state search, a case investigators say may have begun with an online encounter.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in the early hours of Sunday that 12-year-old Lunabella Lozano and 14-year-old Kaelani Star Lozano were recovered safe after a high-stakes traffic stop in Georgia.

Deputies say the girls went missing on Saturday around 5 p.m., sparking an AMBER Alert and an urgent search by MCSO, along with state and federal authorities.

The Georgia Highway Patrol located and stopped the suspect vehicle—a dark four-door Honda CRV with Nebraska plates—early Sunday morning.

Investigators say both girls were found inside the car with the driver—an adult man whose identity has not yet been released—who was subsequently taken into custody.
