Florida State football held its third Junior Day weekend of the month on Saturday. 2028 cornerback Dominic Butler, a three-star prospect, made his way to Tallahassee for the event from Allen, Texas.

It was the first time on campus for the 6-foot, 170-pounder. When he left, Butler had a scholarship offer from FSU, and he announced it on social media.

“After a GREAT visit on campus, I’m Thankful & Blessed to receive an offer to play college football at Florida State University,” Butler wrote.

Butler is the No. 262 overall player in the nation according to the Rivals industry rankings. He’s also listed as the No. 25 cornerback and the No. 25 recruit in the state of Texas.

On Sunday morning, Butler expressed his gratitude for being invited by thanking several members of Florida State’s staff.

“Had a great time in Tallahassee yesterday @FSUFootball Junior Day. The campus & new football facility are amazing!! Thank you @Coach_Norvell, @Coach2Bless, @evancooper2 & @coreyfuller4 🍢🍢,” said Butler.

Butler had a very nice sophomore season in 2025. Per MaxPreps, he recorded 14 tackles, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one blocked field goal. He was named the District 6-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year and a First-Team All-District performer.

The Seminoles are looking for their second commitment in their 2028 class to go along with three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison.
