Tampa police say the first driver in a gray SUV left the scene, while a second vehicle stayed and called 911.

TAMPA, Fla. — A hit-and-run investigation is underway after Tampa police said a woman was hit by two vehicles before she died.

Officers said this happened around 8 p.m. Monday in the area of North 50th Street and East 30th Avenue, when a woman in her mid-40s was hit by a gray SUV going southbound.

Authorities say the SUV left the scene, and the woman was left in the roadway.

Sometime later, TPD said a second vehicle hit the woman again, however, the driver stopped, called 911 and remained on scene to cooperate with police.

Detectives collected “key pieces” of evidence at the scene and are now working with business partners in the area to look over any video footage that could help them find the driver who left the woman on the roadway.

If you have any information in this incident that could help authorities find the suspect, you are asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130 and reference report number 25-595168.

“We are committed to ensuring justice is served for the victim and her loved ones,” Tampa police wrote in a press release. “Providing information is crucial to holding the person responsible accountable and any additional information, no matter how small it may seem, could be the key to delivering justice.”
