Rare snow flurries appeared in southwestern Florida as freezing temperatures gripped the state early Sunday morning, February 1.

Footage captured by Bryan Maxwell shows snow flurries in North Fort Myers on early Sunday.

“We had some very light snow flurries here in North Fort Myers on and off from about 3 am to 7 am. This video was taken at 5:35 am,” Maxwell said.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported various instances of winter precipitation along the west coast of the state, issuing a Freeze Warning as temperatures dipped.

“Temperatures today will only warm into the 40s and 50s. Tonight the lows are back in the 20s and 30s. Stay warm out there,” the NWS said. Credit: Bryan Maxwell via Storyful
