ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – School districts across Central Florida are making adjustments in transportation and on campuses to prepare for freezing temperatures on Monday.
In Orange County, bus fleets have been inspected for cold-weather performance, including battery checks, engine warm-ups, and safety equipment reviews.
Maintenance teams have also tested heating systems on school campuses and have been placed on standby to respond to any temperature-related issues.
In Seminole County, district leaders said buses and school buildings would be fully heated and prepared to receive students on Monday.

Jessica Rodriguez’s son is a sixth-grader at Sanford Middle School and said she wasn’t looking forward to the cold snap.
“Dress them up in layers and put extra clothes if they need to in the backpack and just let them know to stay warm and drink some hot liquids when you get home,” Rodriguez said.
Volusia County district officials said messaging about the cold weather has been sent out to families and outdoor activities may be limited on Monday and Tuesday.
Students are urged to limit their time waiting at bus stops and are encouraged to dress in warm layers, including coats, hats, and gloves.
