Florida gas prices have climbed again.

On Sunday, the state average for a gallon of gas was $2.91, according to AAA – The Auto Club Group.

Last week, the state average went up $0.09 to $2.93 per gallon on Friday, before dipping over the weekend.

These are the highest pump prices in the last six weeks.

AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said oil markets are “reacting to geopolitical tensions” and “growing optimism about future fuel demand.”

Those factors, combined with the state’s pattern of price cycling, contributed to the price increases.

With that said, customers are paying $0.17 less than this time last year, although it’s $0.05 more than last week and last month.

The most expensive metro markets are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.08), Naples ($2.99) and Gainesville ($2.95).

The least expensive metro markets are Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($2.60), Panama City ($2.64) and Pensacola ($2.66).
