UCF Student Government announced in an Instagram post on Sunday that it would cancel the first of four ticket distribution dates for the annual “Universal Knights” event due to “weather conditions and student safety.”

The distribution was scheduled to start at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Central Florida was issued an extreme cold and freeze warning by the National Weather Service in Melbourne, which lasted from 7 p.m. on Feb. 1 to 10 a.m. on Feb. 2. Temperatures as low as 22 to 27 degrees were expected, along with wind chill temperatures as low as 14 to 20 degrees.

Universal Knights is an annual event held every spring semester by the Student Government, where Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure is reserved exclusively for UCF students. This year’s event is scheduled to take place from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Feb. 22.

The post said that there would be a different distribution date. Student Government announced earlier for this year’s event that four ticket distribution times were being offered, rather than five, as it offered in 2025.

The three other distribution dates — Feb. 3 at 9 a.m., Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. and Feb 11. at 9 a.m. — are still scheduled to occur on-time. The distributions will take place at the Addition Financial Arena. Tickets are handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.

If students are unable to make any of the distribution dates or times, UCF Student Government is providing a lottery from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11, with more details on lottery entry to come.
