CAIRO, Ga. (WCTV) – A “dangerous fugitive” was arrested in Cairo, according to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
Grady County Deputies and the U.S. Marshals arrested Navaris Broomfield, 35, on Tuesday.
Broomfield was wanted to violent aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery, petit theft and resisting, following an incident at a Tallahassee Dollar General.

During the incident, Broomfield ran over a store employee with his van and left the scene, according to GCSO.
The sheriff’s office said Broomfield was living out of his vehicle in Cairo when he was taken into custody.
During the arrest, he was found in felony possession of synthetic drugs, GCSO said.
Also arrested was Ashley Lewis, 39, who was living with Broomfield. She was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, according to GCSO.
