A teen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a former high school friend in the face outside a Wawa convenience store in Orlando on Sunday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. According to the arrest report, the victim, who works at a nearby smoke shop, and her girlfriend and another friend stopped at the Wawa on 12083 South Orange Blossom Trail to inflate a tire.As they were leaving the parking lot, the victim noticed a person she believed to be her friend, “Jameson,” Delva, 18, standing outside. The victim and her girlfriend rolled down their windows to offer him a ride.The individual, wearing a mask, allegedly pulled out a black handgun and fired three to five rounds into the car, striking the victim in the face. The victim’s girlfriend drove her to Hunter’s Creek Emergency Room. The victim was later transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center and, due to her injuries, communicated with detectives by typing on a cellphone.She identified the shooter as Jameson and said she views him “almost as a little brother,” often offering him guidance and once putting money on his books.She identified him based on his clothing, noting, “He always be wearing the name clothes he’s not the wealthiest person. And he always be wearing mask.”Both the victims identified Delva’s residence on Turmeric Avenue, which is directly across the street from the Wawa where the shooting occurred.Detectives located three 9mm shell casings at the scene. Surveillance video from Wawa showed a male matching the suspect’s description entering and leaving the store moments before the shooting.Detectives executed a search warrant at Delva’s residence, where they gave Delva verbal commands to exit; he spontaneously stated, “I messed up. I love you,” and hugged his brother.While searching the residence, detectives found the sweatshirt and pants worn by the suspect in the Wawa video, along with several loose 9mm rounds.The victim identified Delva from a mugshot.Delva is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into an occupied vehicle
