CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.—Emergency vehicles were on scene on Interstate 75, combating a brush fire that had temporarily shut down both north and southbound lanes.

Crews responded to the fire at around 2:20 p.m. on Monday near mile marker 172.

At 2:38 p.m., crews reopened southbound lanes, resuming traffic flow. Northbound lanes are still backed up starting from around mile marker 169 and lasting until mile marker 173.

Motorists traveling northbound are advised to take exit 170, Kings Highway, as an alternative route.
