Search for Ali Gilmore continues 20 years after her disappearance

  • February 4, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tuesday marked 20 years since 30-year-old Ali Gilmore went missing in Tallahassee.

At the time of her disappearance, Ali, a FAMU alum, was four months pregnant.

She was living on Loraine Court and worked at the Florida Department of Health and part-time at Publix.

On February 2, 2006, she worked her evening shift at Publix before returning home. The last verified contact she had was at about 12:48 a.m. on February 3.

Gilmore’s estranged husband, James Gilmore was questioned.

In 2021, Tallahassee Police identified Dwight Aldridge as a person of interest.

Investigators said he Aldridge knew Ali and there were questions about whether he was the father of her unborn child.

Major Jeff Mahoney with the Tallahassee Police Department has worked on this case since he was a young homicide investigator 20 years ago.

“I believe that there is someone that knows exactly what happened,” Mahoney said. “At some point, that one tip will help us break this case whether its finding Ali, or having enough evidence to move forward on a homicide charge. So, we’re going to continue to move forward and try to find her and bring her back to her family.”

Just because a case is unsolved, doesn’t mean it’s forgotten. TPD said it continues to work alongside investigative partners to review information and seek new leads.

Any one with information is encouraged to call the Big Bend Cold Case Task Force at 850-410-7611 or visiting this website.
