Allianz Commercial announced the completion of its Miami Latin America Hub, a new office in Brickell with a fully established leadership team, according to a news release.
The release said the hub will support Allianz’s business operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, while expanding reinsurance business into additional Latin American territories. This includes Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Panama.
German multinational financial services company Allianz, headquartered in Munich, is the world’s largest insurance company and the largest financial services company in Europe.
Located on the 10th floor of 1111 Brickell Ave., the Latin America Miami hub of Allianz Commercial office starts with a team of eight. It’s the financial giant’s first Latin America headquarters. Angelica Torres, formerly the vice president property facultative reinsurance broker at Gallagher Re, is the head of the facultative desk.
“This team needs to grow three or four times in the next three years,” said Managing Director for Latin America David Colmenares. “We expect to have a team of around 30 people in three years.”
He also said they “should expect premiums of more than $100 million in three to four years.”
The new office is to launch Feb. 9.
“I think it is a great move opening the office there,” Mr. Colmenares said, “and having all the regions sitting there, collaborating, being close to our markets and to the clients, so we’re extremely excited.”
