TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee ranked fifth in the nation among medium-sized metro areas, according to research by Area Development magazine.
Keith Bowers with the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality noted that the ranking and related data can attract developers and executives, potentially bringing more jobs to the area.
Furthermore, Bowers said 2,100 jobs were added to the capital city area last year, primarily in construction, healthcare and both professional and educational services.
“As people start to think about ‘Should I leave Tallahassee?’ or is there opportunity for further career advancement here in Tallahassee, this speaks directly to that. For those businesses that have established operations here in Tallahassee, that’s a great indication that Tallahassee is prime for growth,” he said. “For the students that are here, these rankings and this data really point to the opportunities that exist to support them in their careers as they either get out of high school or get out of college.”
