TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County mobile home park is continuing to cope with a water outage they say has been lasting for about a week.
Residents in more than 40 homes at the Florida Sun Estates Two are raising public health and sanitation concerns, as well as the added financial burden of buying water.
Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban’s office provided aid to the mobile park home after a resident informed them of the outage.
More news out of the Big Bend:
County agencies distributed water bottles, put up sanitation stations and inspected the water connections in the area. Residents like Steve Branch are eager to get the issue solved.
“I want water. I want to take a shower. We take them for granted, having water. Go without it for seven days, you won’t take it for granted anymore,” Branch said.
Caban says starting Thursday, the Leon County Department of Health will begin fining the landlord of the property, with one of the fines being $500 a day until the water issue is fixed.
