• I am ticked off at myself. I called in sick at work, braved the cold weather, and drove from Orlando to Busch Gardens to see a concert only to find out the band had canceled for the entire week and that most of the roller coasters weren’t operating due to the cold weather. I should have checked the website the night before.
• I am ticked off at Spectrum. Every day when I try to watch television, it never fails that the sound will go out when I am listening to something. It comes back on in less than a minute, but I miss the part of the news or conversation I was listening to.
• I am ticked off again at the Winter Park Public Library for coming up with an excuse to not show up for work. I received an email stating that instead of opening at 9 a.m. on Monday, they would open at noon in order to put less stress on the power grid because of the freezing temperatures. Who thinks that the library is going to shut down the city’s power grid if they open on time?
The flip side
• Kudos to the Lake Mary Fire Department E-33. I was rudely woken up at 3:15 a.m. by super-loud chirping from a smoke detector. I contacted the fire department in the morning and within 15 minutes they responded to check out all my detectors and change out all my batteries, which thankfully I had on hand. Great public relations, LMFD. Your firefighters were awesome.
