Benjamin Rakel ordered food and drinks at the Largo Whiskey Wings on Sunday Night, totaling up to $64.18, according to the affidavit.

LARGO, Fla. — A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after walking out of a bar tab at a local restaurant in Largo, according to the Largo Police Department.

Benjamin Rakel reportedly ordered food and drinks at the Largo Whiskey Wings on Sunday night, totaling up to $64.18, before walking out after telling employees he did not have the money to pay. Rakel provided debit and credit cards as security, which, according to the affidavit, did not have money on them, and told employees he would come back the next day.

Police say that Rakel, 23, came back to the restaurant late Monday night to retrieve a phone charger that he had forgotten when he was there during the crime. Largo police were called, and Rakel was arrested around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Post Miranda rights, Rakel reportedly told officers that he had a Cash App debit card, which he did not provide to the restaurant, but the affidavit did not say if it had money on it to pay for the food and alcohol that night.

Rakel was charged with obtaining food with the intent to defraud. He remains in Pinellas County Jail.Â
