A report of a possible weapon on campus led to a lockdown at a Fort Lauderdale school on Thursday before a police search turned up nothing, officials said.
New River Middle School on Riverland Road was placed on lockdown while the report of a possible weapon on campus was investigated, Broward County Public Schools officials said.
Police conducted a search and nothing was found, officials said.
The school was later given the all clear to resume its normal schedule.
A similar incident caused a lockdown at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami-Dade on Wednesday but a search there also turned up nothing.
