Gulf Beaches Library events
MADEIRA BEACHS — The Gulf Beaches Public Library is located at 200 Municipal Drive in Madeira Beach. The library posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and its website at gulfbeacheslibrary.org.
Here is a schedule of upcoming events:
• Writers Group: Mondays, 10 a.m.-noon
• Adult Coloring Book Group: Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-noon. Coloring books, markers, and colored pencils will be provided.
• Library App Help: Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m. For help with Libby, Kanopy, and Hoopla.
• International Movie: Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. — ‘Stella: A Life.’
• Mahjong: Thursdays, 11 a.m. Old and new members welcome.
• Investment Club: Thursdays, 2:30-4 p.m.
• Meditation: Fridays, 11 a.m.-12 noon. Relax and rejuvenate at the end of the week.
• Scrabble: Fridays, 1-4 p.m.
• Storytime: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. ages 2 and under; Fridays at 10:30 a.m. ages 2-4.
• AARP Tax Help: Feb. 3–April 14. Appointment required. Please call 727-346-8256 to make an appointment.
• Book Club: Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m. — “Milkman” by Anna Burns.
• Adult Art Class: Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m. Watercolor class with artist Deb Barnard. All materials will be provided. Registration required.
The library is currently taking gently used donations of books, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks. Textbooks are not accepted.
Local student named to ACU Dean’s Honor Roll
ABILENE, Texas — Hannah Kasper of Belleair Beach has been named to the fall 2025 Dean’s Honor Roll at Abilene Christian University. Kasper is a senior majoring in interior architecture and design. To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
LWV, Chamber to host candidate forums
The League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area (LWVSPA), in partnership with the Pinellas Beaches Chamber of Commerce, will host a series of public candidate forums in advance of the March 10 municipal election.
These forums are designed to give voters a direct opportunity to hear from candidates, learn where they stand on key community issues, and engage in the democratic process in a respectful, informative setting.

Thursday, Feb. 5, 6 p.m., Madeira Beach City Hall, 300 Municipal Drive
• St. Pete Beach Mayor and City Commission
Monday, Feb. 9, 6 p.m., St. Pete Beach City Hall, 155 Corey Ave.
A forum for the Indian Shores Town Council was held Feb. 2.
All forums are free and open to the public.
