Downtown Cape Coral is undergoing a transformation with the grand opening of Bimini Square. This new development aims to redefine how people live, work and play in the city center.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Bimini Square, drawing in neighbors, city leaders and developers to celebrate this new chapter for Cape Coral.
“We are definitely revitalizing the downtown Cape Coral area,” said Cape Coral Mayor John Gunter.
Bimini Square is a mixed-use development featuring more than 200 apartment units, restaurants like Bimini Basin and accessible health care facilities such as Lee Health.
“This is exactly what you want,” said Gunter. “You want to be able to, you know, work, play and live right in this area.”
The complex offers luxury apartments, a pool, a fitness center and riverfront views, contributing to the evolving downtown skyline.
“It’s growing. It’s a popular place, so you have to manage it. You can’t stop people from wanting to live here, right?” said Larry Nygard, the project developer.
Residents see the development as a sign of opportunity and change in Cape Coral.
“There’s more potential. There’s more future. It’s promising, but it also just a step in the right direction for what Southwest Florida needs,” said Bimini Square resident Anthony Churlin.
Rent for units at Bimini Square ranges from $1,600 to $5,000, showcasing the high-end housing options now available in downtown Cape Coral.
