Two people were arrested in Cape Coral on Thursday afternoon after being accused of a road rage incident involving a coffee cup, which damaged a car.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded to a report of road rage at around 1:10 p.m.The victims told police that they were traveling eastbound on Northeast Pine Island Road when a white Chevrolet Traverse attempted to prevent them from changing lanes while in a construction zone.According to CCPD, after the victims’ vehicle successfully merged, the driver of the Chevrolet became aggressive, making obscene gestures and yelling. The victims then heard something hit their car and later discovered a dent and a scratch, estimated at about $1,200 in damage. The Chevrolet was registered to Maggie Meaney, 24. Officers located the vehicle later in the day at a BJ’s Wholesale Club on Northeast Pine Island Road, CCPD said.Maggie Meaney and Xzavier Meaney, 26, were found in the car and both were discovered to have active arrest warrants — Maggie from Collier County and Xzavier from both Collier and Lee Counties, CCPD said.Officers determined that Maggie was involved in the road rage incident and threw a glass coffee cup at the victim’s car.
