A Cybertruck driver accused of a high-speed DUI crash in Miami-Dade that left a woman dead days before Christmas turned has himself in to face charges, authorities said.
Dayron Ramirez-Mesa, 21, surrendered Thursday to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office to face charges including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide in a reckless manner, reckless driving with damage to property or person, and DUI with damage to property or person, an arrest report said.

According to the report, the crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. on Dec. 14 as Ramirez-Mesa was driving a 2025 Tesla Cybertruck at a high rate of speed in the area of Southwest 56th Street and Southwest 122nd Avenue.
Ramirez-Mesa ran a red light and struck two vehicles that had a green light and were making a left turn at the intersection, the report said.
One of the other drivers, Dayana Abreu Perez, was rushed to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies who responded to the scene immediately suspected Ramirez-Mesa of DUI due to a smell of alcohol and his bloodshot watery eyes, the report said.
Three blood samples were collected from Ramirez-Mesa that came back at .180, .103 and .081, all above Florida’s legal limit of .08, the report said.
Investigators determined Ramirez-Mesa was going at least twice the posted speed limit of 40 mph at the time of the crash and the Cybertruck’s data recorder showed that three seconds before impact he was going 97 mph, the report said.
Ramirez-Mesa appeared in bond court on Friday, where his attorney asked a judge for reasonable release terms, saying Ramirez-Mesa has no prior criminal history and is not a flight risk.
But a prosecutor said the allegations are “egregious” and asked for a $50,000 bond on each count.
Judge Mindy Glazer agreed that an elevated bond was warranted, noting his blood alcohol level was allegedly over twice the legal limit at one point.
“I think he should personally be held no bond, he killed somebody because he was driving drunk,” Glazer said.
Glazer set the bond at $75,000 with house arrest and told Ramirez-Mesa he isn’t allowed to drive.
