SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — Both westbound lanes on I-10 in Santa Rosa County have reopened after a brush fire in the area.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — One westbound lane is open to traffic on Interstate 10 between mile markers 22 and 26, according to the county.

“The road will be down to one lane for an undetermined amount of time,” the county says.

ORIGINAL STORY – 1:45 P.M.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County — between mile markers 22 and 26 — are closed due to a brush fire in the area.

The area is just east of the Avalon exit. Santa Rosa County sent out the alert around 1:30 p.m.

Florida Forest Service tells WEAR News the fire is 8-10 acres and started along the interstate.

“The road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time,” the county says in a release. “Drivers should use caution in the area and expect delays. Seek an alternate route until the roadway reopens.”
