TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A resident has burn injuries after a mobile home in South Tallahassee caught fire early Saturday morning, according to a Tallahassee Fire Department press release.
The fire department received the report of a structure fire on Great Lakes Street at about 2:54 a.m. Saturday.
A single-wide mobile home was partially on fire when crews arrived.
The home’s sole resident was reportedly inside the home at the time of the fire but was outside with burn injuries when TFD crews arrived.
TFD said they started taking out the fire from the exterior and transitioned to the inside of the structure. It took about 10 minutes to get the fire under control and 30 minutes to be extinguished, according to TFD.
“The fire was located in the living room and is believed to be electrical in nature,” TFD said.
The home is a “total loss,” according to the local fire department and there were no additional residents or pets in the home.
