PASS.
Florida (-285) should earn another impressive victory Saturday, but I’m not taking it on the moneyline with those odds.
LEAN FLORIDA -6.5 (-115).
Florida appears to have turned a corner after early-season struggles and is now playing its best basketball of the year. The Gators come in riding a 7-1 stretch, highlighted by a dominant home win over Alabama. In that victory, Florida shot 51.3 percent from the field, and piled up a staggering 72-26 advantage in the paint while committing just 2 turnovers.
Texas A&M is no pushover. The Aggies pushed Alabama to the wire on the road earlier this week, shooting 49 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range. They have scored at least 88 points in 4 straight games and remain strong around the basket.
Still, Florida’s edge lies on the defensive end. The Gators’ ability to control the paint and limit clean looks should be the difference over 40 minutes. Expect Florida to apply consistent pressure, slow Texas A&M’s rhythm and do enough offensively to secure a road win and cover.
BET UNDER 168.5 (-115).
Both teams bring explosive offenses, each averaging more than 86 points per game, but this matchup sets up as more of a defensive battle. Florida has leaned on its defense lately, with the Under cashing in 4 straight games. Texas A&M has also trended lower, going Under in 3 of its last 5. While the pace should be quick, Florida’s ability to control the paint and force tougher looks should slow scoring stretches. In a tightly contested SEC showdown, points may be harder to come by than expected.
