THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS, THOUGH, THAT THIS FIRE IS JUST A REMINDER TO KEEP THESE DRY CONDITIONS IN MIND. SO IF YOU ARE STARTING A FIRE OUTSIDE, PLEASE WATCH THE FLAMES AND CALL 911 IF THAT FIRE GETS OUT OF CONTROL. BECAUSE AS WE LEARNED, THEY SPREAD QUICKLY. POLK COUNTY AND SUMTER COUNTY ARE UNDER COUNTY BURN BANS TONIGHT AS WELL AND GOING FORWARD. SO JUST BE CAREFUL THERE. WE HAVE FIVE SMALL FIRES OUT THERE, ALL LESS THAN 25 ACRES. SO NOT TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THAT FOR THE TIME BEING, ESPECIALLY WITH LIGHTER WINDS. BUT LOOK AT ALL THE DRY AIR. THIS IS GOING TO BE FRESHENED ON UP WITH ANOTHER FRONT THAT WILL BE WORKING ON THROUGH DURING THE DAY TOMORROW. SO IN THE SHORT RUN, THE DROUGHT IS GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN THERE JUST A FEW DAYS AGO. EXTREME TO SEVERE DROUGHT UP TO THE NORTH. AND WHEN WE LOOK AT THE LONG RANGE FORECAST, THIS IS THE NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN.
