Jaycee Park in Cape Coral has been closed for nearly a year as crews continue construction on the city’s major renovation project. The foundation for the bandshell and bistro was poured, with restroom and boardwalk work underway. The redesigned park will feature picnic areas, fitness stations and a playground when completed. While some residents support the improvements, others have protested the loss of the park’s quiet atmosphere and worry about increased traffic. The next construction phase includes underground utilities, boardwalk framing and a splash pad. The city expects to reopen the park in April 2026, WINK News reports.
