• The price of steak and chicken is what it is, but I get ticked off knowing I’m being charged for the absorbent pad in the packaging that weighs an additional third of a pound. I think I have a real beef here and I’m crying foul!

• Really? The coldest day in Orlando in decades and Duke Energy wants us to “conserve” energy due to their limited power supplies?  We run AC 24/7 in the summer. But we run heat for what, two  days?  What am I not getting here?

• There is absolutely nothing wrong with electric bikes as such. For many people, they are a useful tool when unable to ride a conventional bike on the bike paths. The problem is when people ride them as if they are on the streets. Aggressive, inconsiderate and unsafe operation prevail. People get hurt. Others’ peaceful exercise gets disrupted, even adversarial. Regulation is difficult but absolutely necessary.

• Kudos to WFTV meteorologists and all news staff for giving repeated hints and instructions on how to prepare for our recent and upcoming freezing weather conditions. I was aware to let a faucet in the home drip and to cover my backflow device but was not aware to unscrew hoses from the hose bib. Thank you for the service to Central Florida residents.

• Many thanks to the Buddhist monks who are walking from Texas to Washington, D.C. on their Walk for Peace! What a courageous and heartwarming demonstration to remind us of our humanity. We are all one.
