LAKE EOLA PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND RENOVATIONS IN THE CHURCH STREET AREA. NOW, THE CRA IS LOOKING AT A PROPOSED EXPANSION AROUND CAMPING WORLD STADIUM INCLUDE 47 ACRES. THIS MOVE WOULD SUPPORT INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS LIKE NEW HURRICANE RACING TO THE STADIUM’S EXTERIOR, NEW PREMIUM SUITES INSIDE, A RETRACTABLE STAGE POCKET TO ATTRACT LARGER MUSIC EVENTS, AND SIDEWALK AND ROADWAY REPAIR. CITY LEADERS ARE ALSO LOOKING AT WHETHER TO AUTHORIZE $160 MILLION IN TAX INCREMENT REVENUE BONDS TO FUND SOME OF THESE MAJOR. Orlando city leaders will meet on Monday to discuss proposed changes to downtown. Camping World Stadium is no stranger to big events, including EDC, Monster Jam, and now the upcoming Rolling Loud Festival, and this is where the Community Redevelopment Agency is targeting the expansion.The CRA is considering a proposed expansion around Camping World Stadium that would cover 47 acres. The move would support infrastructure improvements, such as new hurricane bracing for the stadium’s exterior, new premium suites inside, a retractable stage pocket to attract larger music events, and sidewalk and roadway repairs. City leaders are also looking at whether to authorize $160 million in CRA tax increment revenue bonds to fund some of these major downtown projects.No vote is expected on Monday, but a necessary study is being recommended. The workshop on Monday starts at 10 a.m., followed by the regularly scheduled meeting at 2 p.m.
