According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, just after 1 a.m., deputies matched a vehicle that Baptiste was driving that had a Be On the Lookout description in the area of Southwest 264th Street and 142nd Avenue.

Deputies said Baptiste tried to flee from deputies, and MDSO Aviation arrived at the scene to assist.

The chase eventually ended on Florida’s Turnpike southbound near Northwest 41st Street, where Baptiste refused to leave the vehicle.

Deputy squad cars were seen lined up on the Turnpike.

He was eventually taken into custody.

Baptiste is expected to appear in bond court on Monday morning.
