ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A west St. Petersburg Publix will open soon after the chain’s original store at the location was demolished and rebuilt.

The newly rebuilt store at 6605 38th Ave. North is reopening Thursday, according to the Publix website.

The 55,454-square-foot Publix has both a pharmacy and a separate liquor store.

The original store, built in 1976, was demolished in 2024 to make way for an updated design, St. Pete Rising said. The project, including the liquor store, was projected to cost about $10.5 million.
