  • February 9, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A man was arrested Saturday after “firing multiple rounds” at a delivery driver in Leon County, according to a Leon County Sheriff’s Office press release shared on Monday.

Aaron Harwell, 21, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, per law enforcement.

LCSO says the incident unfolded Friday morning at about 8 a.m. in the 3200 block of Ridgeland Court.

A delivery driver made a “routine drop and pulled into the suspect’s driveway due to low lighting,” the sheriff’s office press release said. The driver told law enforcement she could not see the address numbers on the home and was going to turn around.

Meanwhile, Harwell’s sister notified him of a suspicious car in the driveway, so he grabbed his father’s firearm and went outside, per the arrest papers.

According to documents, Aaron positioned himself in front of the vehicle while it was in his driveway and stood in the roadway.

“With the handgun down at his side, he put his free hand on the hood of the vehicle, advising the driver to ”Stop!” Aaron heard the engine “rev” and was in fear for his life, so he jumped out of the way to avoid being struck by the vehicle,” arrest documents read.

As the woman drove off, Harwell allegedly “fired multiple rounds at the vehicle,” per LCSO. While the vehicle was struck several times, the driver was not hurt, officials say.

Harwell told LCSO he “did not intend to hurt the driver,” but wanted to make sure “they knew not to come back to his residence.”

Harwell bonded out of jail Saturday morning.
