The Bay Oaks Recreation Center is located at 2731 Oak Street on Fort Myers Beach and is operated by the Town of Fort Myers Beach.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday/Sunday: Closed

Bay Oaks Center will be closed Monday, Feb. 16 for President’s Day. The grounds will remain open.

Free Outdoor Amenities

Two Tennis Courts are available outside, behind the Bay Oaks Recreation Center.

There are seven Pickleball courts available outside, behind the Recreation Center. There is a regular group of pickleball players that meet at 8 a.m. each day.

The Bay Oaks Park Fitness Court is located at the front of the park along Estero Boulevard.



The Bay Oaks playground is located adjacent to Bay Oaks, and is open from dawn to dusk.

Programs offered:

Indoor Pickleball daily from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost for residents is $7, non-residents is $10.

Pickleball is now included in six-month and annual memberships.

Open gym basketball is offered on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost for residents is $5 per child and $7 for adults. The cost for non-residents is $8 per child and $10 for adults.

The weight room is available daily at a cost of $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents.

Memberships

Town of Fort Myers Beach residents and visitors are offered six month and annual memberships. An individual six-month membership is $50 for residents and $100 for non-residents. A six-month membership for a family of four is $100 for residents and $175 for non-residents. Annual memberships for an individual resident are $75, and $150 for non-residents. Annual memberships for Fort Myers Beach families are $150 and $275 for families who live outside of town.

Day passes

Child day passes are $5 for residents and $8 for non-residents.

Adult day passes are $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents.

Youth Programs

Club Rec is a youth program at Bay Oaks Recreation Center that offers an after-school program. This program provides a safe, structured, and fun place for your students to attend after school until as late as 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The resident rate is $200 for a semeester and $350 for the whole year. The non-resident rate is $275 for a semester and $400 for the year.

Easter Bunny and egg hunt

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bay Oaks on Saturday, March 28 from 9 am. to 11 a.m. There will be an egg hunt and foot truck, with games and prizes.

PICKLEBALL LESSONS

Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb 10-26, beginners 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, intermediates 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m.

Fee: $150/person, for 6 lessons

PICKLEBALL ROUND ROBIN

Wednesdays February 11 – 25, 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Fee: $75 for three weeks

Fitness Classes

Sue Anderson, a Fort Myers Beach Native, has been teaching spin classes, body pump and senior spin and tone for 30 years and has been teaching on Fort Myers Beach for 13 years.

She is the founder of “FMB Group Fitness” and as such she is a trusted source of knowledge on all things fitness.

FEE: $15 Drop in / 10-Class Punch Card: $130

(to be paid directly to the instructor)

Spin Class: In this class you will increase your cardiovascular health and burn body fat. Spinning on a stationary bike is safe and fun and low impact. You will tone and shape your legs, hips and butt, as well as strengthen your legs and muscular endurance. In just 60 minutes you can burn about 800 calories! You’ll want to bring a water bottle and a towel but you will leave feeling fantastic!

When: Mondays and Thursdays at 8 a.m.

Senior Spin: In this Senior specific Class, you will enjoy a mix of light spinning on friendly stationary bikes, followed by strength and toning work with light weights, balls all with the assistance of chairs.

This class will help you increase your metabolism and burn calories all while giving you more energy Enjoy fun/upbeat music and professional instruction and supervision.

When: Mondays and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m.

Gentle Resistance Yoga with Annie Neaf:Sessions include breath, movement, creating awareness and learning what challenges you.

Wednesdays 60-minute class incorporates light weights (1’s, 3’s, and 5’s) with breath and movement of Yoga.

Bring your own Mat, water and a towel.

When: Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m.

Fee: $15 Per session, to be paid directly to Annie.

Iyengar Yoga with Susan Carter: Meet Susan Carter: a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and Certified Yoga Therapist with 20 years teaching experience.

When: Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

Yoga Blocks and straps will be provided, please bring your own Mat.

Fee: $15 Drop in / $130 Punch Card of 10 classes (to be paid directly to the instructor).

Susan’s classes focus on creating space and alignment in the body and the careful sequencing of poses. Iyengar Yoga is not yoga flow; poses are held to allow students to penetrate deeply into the essence of what each pose has to offer. I use props when appropriate to help students get immediate benefits.

Zumba Classes with Jian Heinel: Come meet Jian Heinel and experience the most fun you’ll ever have while exercising.

When: Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:15 a.m.

Fee: $15 Drop in / $130 Punch Card of 10 classes (to be paid directly to the instructor)

Jian Heinel is a licensed Zumba fitness, Zumba Gold and Aqua Zumba instructor. She brings fun, happiness, confidence and energy to her class. She has been practicing Zumba for more than 10 years and has been teaching Zumba for 4 years. She enjoys sharing all kinds of Latin dance, such as Salsa, Merengue, Cha-cha-cha, Cumbria, Bachata with her students. Jian’s specialty dance is Argentina Tango which is the best balance exercise at her Zumba class.

This class is suitable for all ages, levels and abilities.
