Holmes Beach police arrested Emily Morrow, 34, of Tampa, Jan. 27 on several criminal charges, headlined by four third-degree felonies for possession of controlled substances — including cocaine and methamphetamine — without prescriptions.
Morrow also was charged with:
Another third-degree felony for a third or subsequent offense of driving with a suspended license;
A first-degree misdemeanor for possession or use of drug equipment;
Four second-degree misdemeanors for possession of legend drugs without prescriptions.
Morrow was stopped by an officer for driving with an obscured license plate. She had a suspended license and there was a Sarasota County arrest warrant out for her passenger.
During a search, police reported finding a prescription mouth wash that Morrow did not have a prescription for, a case containing a scale and small plastic baggies, a capsule containing 12 morphine sulfate pills, six loose pills identified as metformin hydrochloride and quetiapine fumarate, a smoking pipe with white residue that tested positive for meth and five Virginia license plates that did not belong to the vehicle.
Morrow, according to the report, had two baggies containing white powder substances that tested positive for cocaine and meth, as well as a few pills identified as Alprazolam, a Schedule 2 narcotic.
The officers arrested Morrow and transported her to the Manatee County jail, where she was released Jan. 28 after posting $13,600 bond.
Morrow’s passenger was also arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail.
If convicted, punishment for a third-degree felony charge includes up to five years in prison, five years of probation and a fine of up to $5,000.
Punishment for a first-degree misdemeanor includes up to one year in jail, one year of probation and a fine of up to $1,000.
Second-degree misdemeanors are punishable by up to 60 days in jail, six months of probation and a fine of up to $500.
An arraignment will be March 13 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
