The latest jobs report shows the Leon County December unemployment rate is 4.9%. The November unemployment rate was 5.4%. The Florida December unemployment rate came in at 4.4%.
A final 2025 report – with revised numbers – will be released in March.
There were 157,743 people working in Leon County in December compared to November’s revised employment number of 157,835. The size of the workforce in December was 165,840, down from the 166,780 reported in November.
Year Over Year Comparisons
The Leon County Jobs Report, provided below, shows the number of people working in December 2025 was 2,631 less than in December 2024. The December labor force – those looking for jobs – came in at 165,840 which was 66 more than reported one year ago.
The December unemployment rate of 4.9% is up from the 3.3% reported one year ago. At the state level, December unemployment rate of 4.4% is up from the 3.2% reported one year ago.
