The investigation revealed Nappa allegedly swapped barcodes to pay a lower price for items during self-checkout.

Store personnel found the ripped barcode in Nappa’s pocket, which matched the discarded packaging.

Loss prevention reported Nappa as a repeat offender with 10 prior theft incidents at two Lowe’s locations in Cape Coral over a 120-day period.

These incidents involved altering barcodes to pay lower prices for various items, totaling a reported loss of $958.73.

Probable cause was established for Nappa’s arrest, and he was charged with retail theft, a third-degree felony.
