TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County deputies are investigating after a suspect was shot Friday night while allegedly breaking into a home, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident transpired at about 9:40 p.m. Friday in the 5400 block of Touraine Drive, LCSO wrote in a press release Tuesday morning.
Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in that area, where authorities found a male suffering from a gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives investigated and determined that the male entered a home uninvited and refused to leave the home after multiple requests from the homeowner, the press release revealed.
The sheriff’s office did not include any additional details regarding the suspect in its statement. WCTV is working to learn more.

Moments later, LCSO says the suspect threatened the homeowner with a weapon while moving towards him.
The homeowner then fired a single round from a semi-automatic gun, hitting the suspect, per the sheriff’s office.
As a result, the suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. “No other individuals in the home were injured,” deputies said.
As of Tuesday morning, charges are pending, according to LCSO.
This is an ongoing investigation.
