packed party pool at GayDays Orlando

One of Orlando’s most colorful and beloved LGBTQ+ traditions is taking a breather.

GayDays Orlando, the long-running event known for turning theme parks pink, pool decks packed and dance floors sweaty, announced it is postponing its June 2026 celebration. Organizers cited changes to their host hotel agreement, the loss of key sponsors and wider challenges affecting LGBTQIA+ events across the country.

“This is a pause — not an ending,” organizers said in a statement shared on social media, emphasizing they intend GayDays to return in the future. “Our focus now is on reimagining the future and coming back stronger and more sustainable.”

For more than three decades, GayDays has helped transform Orlando into a Pride Month playground each early summer, overlapping with other queer-centered events Girls in Wonderland, One Magical Weekend and Bear Jamboree. The result: thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors flooding hotels, theme parks and nightlife spots for days of pool parties, DJs, live entertainment and sun-soaked celebration.

For now, the rainbow-drenched weekend is on hold — but not gone. The GayDays Orlando family is simply getting ready for its next chapter, it says.
