The study is based on factors such as the share of single adults, the unemployment rate for singles and restaurants per capita.
FLORIDA, USA — With Valentine’s Day approaching, some of you singles may still be trying to find a special someone to spend the day with.
Despite how difficult you may think it is to find love as a single person, a new study says it may be the easiest for Floridians.
WalletHub ranked Florida the best state in the country for singles, based on factors such as the share of single adults, the unemployment rate for singles and restaurants per capita.
Florida topped the list based on its large variety of attractions from amusement parks, restaurants and music festivals.
Other finds show that the Sunshine State is an active area for people looking for love, as people in Florida search for dating sites like Tinder and eHarmony more than residents in most other states.
Additionally, WalletHub ranked Florida with the third-most fitness centers and eighth-most parks for couples who like to stay active. It is also ranked the fifth-best annual job growth rate in the country, making it easy to support your potential dating life.
“The best states for singles are those that have strong economies while also providing a wide range of places to host dates,” Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, stated.
If you’re a single living in Tampa, you may be even more in luck because the same outlet previously ranked it the third best city for singles.
Other states that cracked the top five include New York, Texas, California and Illinois, respectively.
The worst state for singles, according to WalletHub, is West Virginia.
