Lucille Zanghi: Shifting Arsht Center boards to capitalize on her successes

When Lucille Zanghi moved to Miami in 2007, she was looking for a city with culture, energy and opportunities to engage with her community. A longtime enthusiast of the performing arts, Ms. Zanghi quickly discovered the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, attending one of its early galas and touring its striking concert halls. Impressed by the center’s vision and the role it played in Miami’s downtown revitalization, she became involved, first joining the trust board in 2015 and later transitioning to the foundation board, where she now co-chairs the Endowment Campaign Committee.

Ms. Zanghi spent most of her career as a stockbroker, manager and certified financial planner, advising individuals and small pension plans, building long-term client relationships and guiding them through complex financial decisions.

She began her career in Boston with EF Hutton and Company and retired 20 years later as a Vice President of Dean, Witter, Reynolds and Company. Since retiring, Ms. Zanghi has devoted her time to volunteer work, serving as a trustee on numerous boards including Northeastern University, Wang Center for the Performing Arts (Boston), Brookline Education Foundation, Barnard College Women’s Leadership Council (NYC) and Marymount Manhattan College (NYC).

Today, she brings that same expertise and leadership to the Arsht Center’s $50 million endowment campaign, ensuring the institution has the stability to continue its mission for decades to come. Her focus on education, community programming and local arts initiatives reflects her belief that accessible cultural experiences can transform lives – especially for young people.

Since opening its doors in 2006, the Arsht Center has become a cornerstone of Miami’s cultural landscape. Hosting more than 400 annual performances, welcoming over 6 million guests and providing free arts education to 80,000 students each year, the center has contributed more than $125 million in annual economic activity and supported over 11,500 local jobs. From Broadway productions to Miami City Ballet performances and community-focused events, the center has played a vital role in connecting diverse audiences and fostering a vibrant, inclusive arts ecosystem.

For Ms. Zanghi, the center’s impact is personal. She recalls the first plays she saw as a student, experiences that expanded her horizons and inspired her love of the arts. She now channels her energy into advancing the Arsht Center’s reach, helping bring performances and education beyond the walls of the theater into neighborhoods across Miami, and ensuring the institution thrives for future generations.

Outside of her work with the Arsht Center, Ms. Zanghi supports causes that reflect her values, including the Humane Society and animal welfare initiatives locally and internationally. She shares her life with her husband, children and two Golden Retrievers, Chloe and Daisy, who reflect her passion for nurturing, companionship and advocacy.

As the Adrienne Arsht Center celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, Ms. Zanghi’s leadership and vision exemplify a commitment to both cultural and community growth, helping secure the center’s next 20 years as a hub of inspiration, education and connection for Miami.
