ULA Vulcan rocket to launch Space Force mission from Florida coast

  • February 11, 2026

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket is scheduled to take off early Thursday from the Florida coast on a mission for the U.S. Space Force.

The USSF-87 mission will take off from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station during a launch window open from 3:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., delivering a national security spacecraft to geosynchronous orbit, according to ULA’s website.

Thursday’s launch will involve the next-generation Vulcan’s heaviest payload yet, as well as be its longest-ever flight at 10 hours, ULA said Tuesday on social media.

Weather forecasters have predicted a 95% chance of “GO” conditions for a 3:30 a.m. launch, the post states.
