After getting out of the Senate race following Alexander Vindman’s entry, newly minted congressional candidate Jennifer Jenkins is receiving his endorsement.

“Florida needs courageous public servants like Jennifer Jenkins and I’m proud to support her,” Vindman said. “Jennifer has shown time and again that she’s willing to stand up when it matters, even when it isn’t easy. She’s a fighter who does the right thing, not the easy thing. That kind of backbone is rare, and it’s exactly what we need in Congress. She has my unequivocal support and strongest endorsement.”

Jenkins, a Democrat, is promoting the endorsement as she seeks to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Randy Fine.

“From day one, this has been about putting Florida families first and building the strongest team possible to win,” Jenkins said. “I was proud to endorse Alex when he entered the Senate race, and I’m grateful to have his support as we take on one of the most important congressional races in the country. Together, we’re focused on defeating extremism, lowering costs for families, and delivering real results for our communities.”

Jenkins’ campaign says Florida’s 6th Congressional District, a sprawling district that runs from St. Johns County to Daytona Beach and the Orlando suburbs and the Ocala area out west, is viewed as a “key pickup opportunity in the fight to win back the House.”

It remains to be seen how viable she will be given that the current map has roughly 273,000 Republicans compared to 142,000 Democrats, and the district is considered to be Solid Republican by the Cook Report. It’s also possible the map could change during an expected redistricting Special Session this year.

Fine won last year’s Special Election to replace Mike Waltz by roughly 14 points.

Jenkins raised a little more than $350,000 for her Senate campaign, retaining slightly more than $100,000 cash on hand. That number is far below the nearly $1 million Fine had to spend at the end of 2025, yet far above the totals amassed by other Democrats in the field.
