TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee carjacking suspect was arrested in Crawfordville after the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) requested mutual aid from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
WCSO received the request at about 1:18 a.m. Jan. 31 from the Tallahassee Police Department, who said the suspect was reportedly traveling south on Wakulla Springs Highway.
Wakulla deputies said Christopher Kentrell Roberts, 39, was taken to Wakulla County Jail without incident a day later.

TPD told the sheriff’s office that the carjacking involved a gray 2014 Acura SUV.
WCSO located the suspect after they responded to the area of Spring Creek Highway and Wakulla Arran Road.
Deputies found the suspect at about 1:33 a.m. near Inez Lane and tried to conduct a traffic stop but he fled the scene at high speeds. An Air One was requested by TPD to search the area.

Deputies found the stolen vehicle abandoned on Patricia Lane with the engine running and the driver’s door open. The vehicle was then reportedly given back to the owner.
Footsteps were identified, so deputies established a perimeter.
A TPD K9 unit tracked the footprints from Patricia Lane to Feli Way, but they lost track.
“Later in the investigation, Wakulla County Deputies received additional intelligence from TPD indicating Roberts was possibly located at a residence on Raker Lane in Crawfordville. Deputies responded to the residence, where the homeowner granted consent for Deputies to enter,” per a WCSO press release.
Deputies said Roberts gave a fake name before admitting his identity and was subsequently arrested at TPD’s request.
