Famous for fishing, Punta Gorda sits on the confluence of the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor. Residents enjoy strolling through Fisherman’s Village, dining on seafood, and, of course, the beach.
This hidden gem holds onto its “Old Florida” appeal while remaining cosmopolitan. The cost of living is 7% under the national average, with housing the overwhelming main driver. For Southwest Florida, that’s extremely affordable.
3. Port St. Lucie

4. Palm Bay

This large yet under-the-radar Space Coast city offers world-class fishing and abundant outdoor recreation. You’ll find some of the state’s best unspoiled nature at the Turkey Creek Sanctuary here, as well as gorgeous beaches. The amenities and hospitals of Orlando are only an hour away.
The cost of living is 2% below the national average, with grocery and housing costs lower than in South Florida.
5. Daytona Beach

One of the most famous beach towns in Florida, Daytona Beach is known for its car culture, beach driving, boating, and Bike Week.

6. Panama City
