Multiple people died Tuesday after a shooting at a home in a Sarasota County neighborhood. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Fallcrest Circle. ABC7 Sarasota WWSB reported that the home was in the Amberlea neighborhood, which is a gated community.At approximately 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received a 911 call about a man who was shot at the home. Sarasota County deputies responded to the scene minutes later as neighbors were performing CPR on the victim in the front yard.Neighbors told deputies that the man’s wife was potentially inside the home. The man was moved to an alternate location where he was placed in the care of the Sarasota County Fire Department.According to the SCSO, the man was pronounced dead shortly afterward. When deputies entered the residence, fearing for the safety of the victim’s wife, they found two women and two men dead inside the home.The sheriff’s office said that while deputies attempted to identify the victims and a potential suspect, they received word from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department that its officers were working a double homicide, and FLPD believed the Sarasota shooting was related to the investigation.The FLPD stated that the suspect’s vehicle information from its investigation was caught on camera after the homicide that it was investigating. The vehicle was traveling northbound through Punta Gorda before the Sarasota homicide.Sarasota County detectives recovered video of the suspect’s vehicle entering the neighborhood at 11:01 a.m., shortly before the sound of gunfire was captured on a neighbor’s Ring camera. According to the SCSO, approximately 37 minutes later, the male victim found on the front lawn was captured entering the neighborhood in his vehicle. Deputies said the man approached the front door, where he was shot, and no one else was seen entering or exiting the residence until deputies arrived. The sheriff’s office said all victims were identified, and the suspect was among the deceased inside the residence. The suspect’s vehicle was found within the neighborhood.According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect had been in a previous romantic relationship with one of the victims in Fort Lauderdale.
