New video released shows a high-speed chase through Cape Coral and Fort Myers on Tuesday that ended with the arrest of Angel Manuel Perez Jr., who deputies say fled from his car and barricaded himself inside a home for an hour. This dude just kept going,” Ludlow said.The Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter followed Perez’s car as the suspect drove on sidewalks and briefly stopped to wave at the helicopter. Deputies say Perez eventually bailed from his car on Stella Street and barricaded himself inside a home. After an hour, he emerged and was arrested. Deputies removed two weapons from the property, a 9mm pistol and a rifle.In 2023, Perez was arrested on attempted murder charges after being accused of trying to kill his girlfriend by shooting into her home in Cape Coral.
