Florida’s growth depends on reliable, affordable American-produced energy.
American energy is the constant in a world that’s changing fast and the foundation of America’s next era of growth. The industry remains strong and resilient, and the United States is the world’s energy superpower, delivering record production with greater efficiency, lower emissions and rapid innovation.
As the nation’s third most populous state and one of its largest electricity consumers, Florida depends on affordable, reliable, American-produced energy. While in-state production has declined, Florida benefits from robust oil and natural gas supplies transported by water, road, rail and pipelines stretching from Texas.
Long-term demand fundamentals remain strong. Oil and natural gas will be essential for decades. Rising demand driven by Artificial Intelligence, advanced manufacturing, electrification and population growth is reshaping the grid and the economy.
American Petroleum Institute CEO Mike Sommers calls this period the “demand decade,” a time of historic structural growth arriving faster than infrastructure and permitting systems were designed to handle.
Supportive leadership in Washington has shifted national energy policy toward expansion, but sustaining progress will require policies in Florida that enable infrastructure growth, exploration and innovation.
Energy security strengthens national security and underpins Florida’s tourism-driven economy. Expanding American energy is central to affordability, reliability and long-term competitiveness.
