In what is set to be one of the most anticipated theater premieres of the year, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is gearing up to hit the Arsht Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House this March. And you can expect all the drama, glitz and grandeur as this transformation of Baz Luhrmann’s original film hits the local stage!
While the 2001 film has become a global phenomenon, the Broadway version is a juggernaut of its own, winning an impressive 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical. It’s a celebration of truth, beauty, freedom and – above all – love. The production details the heart-wrenching tale of Paris’ underworld, as Satine and Christian’s love story travels major ups and downs and the Moulin Rouge’s destiny hangs in the balance.

So pop the champagne and prepare for the “spectacular, spectacular” as the story of the star-crossed lovers comes to life and celebrates over 160 years of music, stretching from Offenbach all the way to Lady Gaga.
Adding a special touch of magic for the 305, Hialeah native and Barbara Goleman Senior High graduate Danny Burgos is starring as Santiago in the national tour. Talk about an epic hometown moment!

Moulin Rouge! makes its anticipated Miami premiere on March 17 through 22. If you head out on opening night, a dazzling Arsht Plus experience (for all Broadway in Miami ticketholders) kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with show-worthy fascinator-making, trivia and even an art giveaway to get you in the spirit.
