GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Competing against the #6 ranked Florida Gators for the second night in a row, Jacksonville dropped its contest 11-1 in five innings.

The Dolphins were held scoreless in its Tuesday night meeting against the Gators, but did notch a run Wednesday behind a Tatum McCool solo homer in the fifth inning.

McCool’s hit was one of just two for the ‘Phins to go along with a single from graduate transfer Kate Linkletter. 

McCool’s homer was her second already this season and her fourth hit overall. She leads the team in jacks and is tied for fourth so far in total hits. 

In the circle, Jacy Harrelson got the start and went 2 1/3 innings. Reese Wells came on in relief for 1 2/3 innings. Harrelson tossed one strikeout.

Jacksonville next turns its sights to its second home tournament of the year, this time the JU/UNF Invitational starting Friday, Feb. 13. The Dolphins play host to Stony Brook to kick things off, with first pitch slated for 1:30 p.m. A contest with Princeton follows before a doubleheader against Iona on Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
